Leina Heim

Barn and Practice Manager

Personal Profile

Leina Heim is a graduate of Oregon State with a degree in Animal Sciences and focus on Equine Science. After graduation, Leina was accepted into the Kentucky Equine Management Internship program at WinStar Farm. After fully being immersed in the equine industry in Lexington, Kentucky, she moved on to work for Hall of Fame Trainer, Todd Pletcher, traveling bi-annually between New York and Florida where she managed Thoroughbred racehorses. Leina took a break from the horses for a three-year period after suffering a traumatic injury that brought her back home to Oregon. During her healing period, Leina worked the front desk at a Marriott Hotel, later on advancing to the Assistant General Manager role.
However, it wasn’t long before the equine industry called to her. Leina accepted a position at Wild Turkey Farm as an Equine Care Specialist and Breeding Assistant, before making the move to Summit Equine. Her passion for horses, paired with her hospitality and management background, make her a natural fit as the Barn and Practice Manager for Summit Equine.
