Leina Heim
Practice Manager
Personal Profile
Leina is a graduate of Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and focus on Equine Science. After graduation, Leina was accepted into the Kentucky Equine Management Internship program out of Lexington, Kentucky. After fully being immersed in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry, she moved on to work for Hall of Fame Trainer, Todd Pletcher. Leina took a break from the horses for a three-year period after suffering a traumatic injury that brought her back home to Oregon. During her healing period, Leina worked the front desk at a Marriott Hotel, later on advancing to the Assistant General Manager role. However, it wasn’t long before the equine industry called to her. Leina accepted a position at Wild Turkey Farm as an Equine Care Specialist and Breeding Assistant, before making the move to Summit Equine. Her passion for horses, paired with her hospitality and management background, make her a natural fit as the Barn and Practice Manager for Summit Equine.
During Leina's free time she enjoys adventuring the Pacific Northwest with her husband Chase and their daughter Cora.
